You Deserve Care That Fits Your Life
Medication management shouldn’t feel dismissive, rushed, or one-size-fits-all. Too often, people leave appointments feeling unheard — like their concerns were minimized or their diagnosis was treated as the whole story.
That’s not how we practice at Wildwood.
You know yourself best. Our role is to collaborate with you — not dictate your care.
Medication isn’t a magic fix, but for some people it can be a helpful tool, especially when daily life starts feeling overwhelming. A medication evaluation may be worth considering if you’re experiencing things like:
Difficulty focusing, brain fog, or feeling constantly overwhelmed
Anxiety that won’t quiet — racing thoughts, panic, or chronic stress
Depression that lingers despite your best efforts
Mood shifts or emotional intensity that interfere with daily life
Intrusive thoughts or compulsive patterns
Burnout, exhaustion, or sensory overload
Some clients combine medication with therapy. Others use medication as a short-term or standalone support. Whether you’re in therapy here, working with a provider elsewhere, or not in therapy at all, we meet you where you are.
The right medication doesn’t change who you are—it helps you be more of yourself.
We’re HERE TO HELP YOU discover that.
A Different Kind of Prescribing Team
Medication management should feel like a conversation, not a lecture.
Our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners believe in thoughtful, collaborative care — not pushing medication, over-pathologizing, or treating diagnoses like labels that define you. Every provider on our prescribing team takes time to understand your history, your stressors, and your goals before making recommendations.
Some of our prescribers focus solely on medication management, while others also integrate psychotherapy into care. What they all share is the same philosophy:
You are involved in every decision
Medication is a tool, not a requirement
Adjustments are made based on you, not a textbook
Side effects, preferences, and past experiences matter
For clients navigating complex decisions, we also offer GeneSight testing, which can help reduce trial-and-error by showing how your body may respond to certain medications.
Many of our prescribers also specialize in ADHD evaluations and provide affirming, neurodivergent-friendly care that centers autonomy and respect.
No pressure. No assumptions. No invalidation.
Just real support, on your terms.

What we’ll work on
How Medication Management Works:
Medication can be a tool to help manage mental health challenges, but it’s never about changing who you are. We’ll focus on:
Understanding Your Needs – Identifying what symptoms are impacting your daily life and what you hope to improve.
Finding the Right Fit – Exploring medication options that align with your goals, preferences, and any past experiences with meds.
Adjusting as Needed – Monitoring how you feel and making changes if something isn’t working for you.
Supporting Your Whole Mental Health Journey – Whether medication is part of your care alongside therapy or a standalone option, we’ll help you feel confident in your choices.
You are always in control of your mental health care. We’re here to support you, answer your questions, and make sure you feel heard every step of the way.
FAQS
Common questions about medication management
-
No, you don’t have to be in therapy to receive medication management. Some people choose to combine therapy with medication, while others prefer medication as a standalone option. If you’re already working with a therapist—whether at Wildwood or elsewhere—we’re happy to collaborate with them, but it’s entirely your choice.
-
Your initial appointment is a conversation, not a prescription guarantee. One of our Mental Health Nurse Practitioners will take the time to understand your concerns, symptoms, past experiences with medication (if any), and what you hope to gain from treatment. If medication is a good option, they’ll discuss what might work for you and answer any questions you have.
-
Not necessarily. Medication is a tool, not a life sentence. Some people use it short-term to get through a difficult period, while others find long-term use is best for managing their mental health. We’ll check in regularly and adjust your treatment plan based on how you’re feeling and what works for you.
-
You’re never stuck with a medication that isn’t working for you. If you experience side effects or feel that it’s not the right fit, we’ll work together to adjust the dosage, switch to a different option, or explore alternative approaches. The goal is to find something that supports your mental health without making you feel worse.
-
Yes, our providers are able to prescribe stimulants for ADHD if they are an appropriate fit for your treatment. However, medication decisions are always made based on your individual needs and a thorough evaluation. If stimulants aren’t the best option for you, we’ll explore alternative treatments that can still provide support.
-
We get it—many people come to us feeling frustrated, dismissed, or burned out from past providers who didn’t listen. Our approach is different. Our providers take the time to understand your concerns, talk through your options, and make sure you feel heard every step of the way. If medication isn’t the right choice for you, that’s okay too. This is about what works for you, not just following a standard checklist.

GeneSight is a genetic test that analyzes how your DNA may affect your response to certain psychiatric medications. By examining specific genes, it helps identify which medications may work best for you, which may require adjustments, and which might be less effective or cause more side effects.
How does the test work?
GeneSight testing is a simple, non-invasive process. It requires a quick cheek swab, which is then sent to a lab for analysis. Results are typically available within a few days and provide valuable insight into which medications may be a better fit for your unique genetic makeup.
Who can benefit from GeneSight testing?
This test is especially helpful for individuals who:
Have experienced multiple medication trials with little success
Have struggled with severe side effects from past prescriptions
Are interested in personalized medication management
Want to explore more targeted treatment options for conditions like depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other mental health concerns
Does GeneSight replace the need for a prescriber?
No, GeneSight is a tool to guide medication decisions, but it does not replace the expertise of a prescriber. Our providers will review your results, discuss your symptoms and history, and work with you to create a treatment plan that best fits your needs.
Is GeneSight testing covered by insurance?
Coverage varies by insurance provider, but many plans do offer some level of reimbursement. There are also financial assistance programs available through GeneSight to help reduce costs for those who qualify. Our providers can provide additional guidance on navigating coverage options.
How do I request GeneSight testing?
If you're interested in learning more about GeneSight and whether it's right for you, schedule an appointment with one of our providers to discuss your options. He’ll walk you through the process and help determine if genetic testing could support your medication management plan.
